Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What makes you different from all the other consultants out there?

Futurestate Solutions utilise lean manufacturing principles as part of a holistic approach to business transformations. We do not focus solely on process improvements but have a successful approach (The Achieving Excellence Model™) that builds improvements into the overall vision and strategy of your business, encouraging an engaged workforce. We're a team proficient in business improvement techniques and business transformations with years of hands on experience in managing the change process. This allows us to provide expert lean manufacturing consultancy and lean training to our clients. We also believe that all change needs to be sustainable, which means we will not tweak processes and move at such a pace that people get lost. We coach and pass our knowledge to clients through the journey to ensure that the reasons for change are understood and explain how we arrived at the chosen solutions.

Q. I have been in this industry for years. What can you tell us that we don't already know?

In the majority of cases we cannot tell you about your industry and how it operates. We trust your knowledge in your own sector and look to share our ideas and findings to work through business issues together. As we specialise in managing change our expertise is in prompting effective communication between all stakeholders and developing an improvement program to drive the business forward. What we can promise is that we will continually raise innovative ideas to help improve the development of your staff and processes based on the most up to date research carried out in the industry.

Q. We are too busy to make changes. How can we find the time?

One of the main reasons for using a specialist consultant is to allow you to focus on your business while someone you can trust is advising you on the change process. We improve culture and processes to reduce the number of issues that land on your desk that could be either; avoided, or dealt with by someone else. Initially a time commitment will be required from yourself and the members of your team but it will be a sound investment that will eventually free up your time to work on developing your business.

Q. We are looking at reducing our costs. How could we afford the services of a consultant?

Although we cannot guarantee a formula for success, we can advise that on average the ratio of our costs v total savings is 1:6 over the first year. This will obviously increase over time as the culture of your business becomes focused on improvement, therefore you can be sure you will get a significant return on your investment. We are also extremely ethical with our pricing, ensuring all business sizes can utilise our services.

Q. What is the cost?

I am sure you will appreciate this is always a tough question. We cannot give a figure without a prior discussion as the cost will be dependent on the scale of the project, the level of intervention and the type of support you require. You will be glad to know that we do work a sliding scale based on the size of your business, so we can guarantee that the support will be affordable.

Q. We need to make changes today. How soon can you have someone on site?

We are always available by telephone on 01204 410062 or complete our enquiry form on the contact us page. We can usually arrange meetings with clients within a couple of days and have someone in your business within 1 week to review your current situation.
