Manufacturing Learning and Development

Lean manufacturing consultants Training
We have a package just for you. Our team of Lean Consultants have first-hand experience in the issues today’s managers are faced with having worked hands-on with small, medium and large businesses in Manufacturing, Healthcare, Aerospace, Automotive, Food and Construction Sectors.

We have ‘off the shelf’ and bespoke training courses suitable for all levels of responsibility and ability. Our training is also designed to build on your existing knowledge and reduce the amount of time spent covering old ground, saving you valuable time and money.

As we all share the Futurestate Business Values we are results driven with our training and will provide as much 'hand holding' as required during your learning programme.

Our Approach

Futurestate Training Approach
Sharing our knowledge with manufacturing organisations looking to improve performance through their people is something we are truly passionate about. We see training being much more than just standing at the front the room flicking through PowerPoint slides. In fact we have made a conscious decision to stop using PowerPoint to ensure our workshops are active and engaging.
All the research into training and learning shows that experience based learning is the best method when to comes to the ‘stickiness’ factor. The reason for providing someone with a learning experience is that we want them to remember the learning and recall at a later date as required.

As all our training courses are within the manufacturing sector there is a stronger bias towards experience based learning as the majority of people in the industry prefer to be hands-on.

That doesn’t mean we don’t cover any theory because we do. Without the theory and understanding we are in dangerous territory. People with little knowledge and a lot of power can cause a lot of damage. We design our workshops with a 70/30 split. 70% activity based focused on engagement and the learner experience. 30% theory based providing valuable insights and knowledge on the subject matter.

Our team are also very open minded with their approach and are flexible when delivering training courses with a mix of audiences. They understand when to stop training and provide experience based insights and when to just crack on and let the room work through an issue.

People learn in different ways and each of us has a preferred learning style. This will either be a visual, auditory or kinaesthetic (tactile) style of learning. For most of us that have all three functions we will use all three but one will be stronger than the others. Our team fully understand how different people learn and ensure course delivery appeals to all three styles.

A word of warning! We can be challenging! We feel that people and their organisations get the best from training when they are being challenged, therefore we like to challenge people to step out of their comfort zone and try something new.

Where we work best

Our ideal piece of training would be in a challenging manufacturing environment, where the best approach to training and content is currently a bit of an unknown. This may be because previous attempts have not been successful, no previous attempt at training have been made, or you are currently exploring new possibilities to engage and develop your team. We feel that we can provide a way through any of these problems and achieve fantastic results with your team.

Due to our experience in supporting large scale change, we work best when working closely with the needs of the business. We like to provide insights into what works well in different situations and environments and ensure our packages provide maximum impact for the learner and the business. Our Managing Director, Gary Sheader, is actively involved in the design of our programs and has experience of working with organisations from £1m - £1bn turnover on managing change and establishing training needs.

If you feel that you need support with the personal development of your manufacturing leaders and managers, or training in operational improvements we would like to help. Take a look through our current programs to gain an understanding of the types of training we offer or call the office where a member of our friendly team would be happy to help.
